Realizing
Winter 1991
Change comes over me. Slow – unannounced.
Quiet rain, softly nourishing the earth; having the
Power of a sunrise – and with it: new hopes and
Fears. The world changes with every precious
Breath. Beauty may fade and warmth may
Flee, but miracles continue for those who still hope.
Seasons fade by, as I distinguish their toll.
Part of me is gone – just memories stolen by the
Grasp of time, never to be returned.
Leaving me only with what I am – my strengths, weaknesses,
Passions and hates, my knowledge and experiences. All
Struggling for importance: each in its own place.
Fear penetrates, as I view mortality – seeing how
Small and powerless we all stand. Some
Conquer mountains while others
Cannot stand. Time passes by, a
Racing train moving towards my destination. I
Strive to catch it. I must try – I
Fly, then fall – and must learn to stand again.
Visions enlighten, open doors I never knew were there. Allow
Loneliness to be a companion, and turn conflicts into
Peace. Changes present themselves as I view only numerous
Opportunities, bringing forth greater things then I ever
Imagined. Earth's beauty sets the stage for my acts – as I
Perform for the world.
